AÇEV

Founded in 1993, Anne Çocuk Eğitim Vakfı works to ensure that every child at an early age is safe, healthy, happy and learning.

AÇEV develops and implements science-based educational programs for children, parents and young women who are in need all over the country. It conducts studies on early childhood, the most critical period of life in human development, and constantly supports its studies with research.

Scientific Approach

AÇEV also produces programs aiming to contribute to constant progress by educating the environment of the individual on developmental age, based on the ''scientific approach'' in its practices. AÇEV sets out to strengthen pre-school children and their immediate environment while pursuing its activities in many fields such as mother’s education, father’s education, pre-school education, women's literacy and women's empowerment.

Early Childhood and Parenting Programs

Early childhood, i.e., the first 6 years of life, is a time when children have extraordinary opportunities for positive development. Early childhood education interventions targeting the community’s disadvantaged population play an important role in reducing inequalities and, in particular, intergenerational transfer of these inequalities. Within this scope, AÇEV provides educational programs for young children and parents. AÇEV’s programs serve to provide children with a supportive home environment where parents have higher self-confidence, an increased sensitivity for child development, hence an increased role of an educator in their children’s lives.

Advovacy and Policy Work

In addition to education programs and fieldwork, AÇEV also engages increasingly more in advocacy work to boost societal awareness and support on early childhood education. AÇEV is determined to continue further its vision by contributing to the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals including inclusive and quality education in early childhood, role of family in young children’s learning, gender equality, and lifelong learning.
